We got to see many great historical sites in China, however, sometimes I felt it was much of the same. We got to see many different temples/pagodas, and while each one was unique and fascinating, it was at the expense of getting to do less touristy options that would have allowed us to learn more about modern Chinese culture and behavior. While that would have been my personal preference, it is hard to complain about the wonderful scheduling and event planning that always kept us on our feet, active, and provided for one of the best experiences of my life.

Could not have asked for a better professor for the trip. Professor Grafstein was a great guide through China, easy to get a long with, and the best class lecturer I have had. The same goes for Ling Rao, who taught a great class, was an indispensable translator, and a friend to all.

The SPIA China Maymester will be one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The program not only provides an opportunity to visit a fascinating country with a rich history and unique people, it also gives the opportunity to experience those things with a total group of strangers that, through common circumstance, become a close group of friends.
