Program Description:
UGA German- Engineering Internship 

A key part of the Dual-Degree Program in Egnineering and German is the internship to be completed in Germany immediately following the student's semester of study at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). UGA has established relationships with several German companies and organizations that have expressed their intention to employ UGA students as interns; these include for example, Siemens, Merck, and the Fraunhofer Society.

In consultation with the student, program faculty determine an appropriate internship placement and then contact the company or organization to nominate him or her, at which point the decision to hire is in the hands of the hiring party.

Although the UGA program faculty can do much to assist in these initial steps, the student must then take an active role in securing the internship and completing the necessary visa process in a timely manner, including by supplying any additional paperwork that the German firm or organization will require. 

All internships are paid positions, however the amount of pay, the housing arrangements, etc. will differ from one situation to the next. The duration of the internship is expected to be at least three months.
