Preliminary Itinerary for Travel in Peru

Note: This program is only open to Full-Time MBA students. Any application from a person who is not a FTMBA student will not be considered.

Early morning arrival in Lima for flight connection to Cusco
Group bus transfer from airport to the hotel

City Tour Cusco:
  • Archeological Site of Sacsayhuamán
  • Cristo Blanco (viewpoint)
  • San Pedro Market
  • Koricancha Temple
  • Plaza de Armas 
Check in at hotel

Day 2

Meeting for Economic Overview: AMCHAM Peru/Central Bank/ Ministry of the Economy
General overview of Peru's business and political climate. How has foreign investment been affected by Kuczynski's economic policies since his assumption of the Presidency. 

Meeting in the Finance Sector: Breca Group
Peruvian business conglomerate and one of the main economic Peruvian groups. The Breca group owns companies in the financial, industrial, mining, services, agribusiness, construction, chemical and health services sectors.

MiBanco

Peru's first private commercial bank that is focused on micro-finance for small and medium-sized companies. Mibanco is backed by investment funds from Acción Comunitaria del Perú, Profund Internacional and Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF).

Meeting in a relevant industry for projects, such as: Mining Industry: Orica Mining Services
Ranked in the top 40 Australian companies and operating in 50 countries worldwide, Orica provides explosives, initiating systems, and blast-based services. Talk with the General Manager of Orica Peru on multinational financial management, the company's recent expansion through Mergers and Acquisitions throughout South America, and the challenges this has created.

Fishing Industry: Copeinca Group

Peru produces nearly 10% of the world's catch of fish and this industry is the second highest generator of foreign currency in Peru. The group will meet with one of the top 5 fishing companies in Peru. Discussion on the supply chain challenges of exporting to countries worldwide by Copeinca. Discussion on the company's aggressive acquisition strategy of other leading fishing companies in Peru. 

Afternoon for Project Work
Each team will meet at breakout meeting rooms at the hotel or alternative venue to work on projects

Meals included: Breakfast, Boxed Lunch & Reception with 12 external guests

Engineering Industry: Creditex

Talk about Creditex as a result of the merger and consolidation of four Peruvian textile companies, acquired by the Corporation Cervesur. Overview of the operations and its services for "full package" of garments sold abroad under internationally recognized brands. 

Consulting Industry: MWH Peru
Company presentation by a leading global provider of consulting, engineering, construction and management services in water, natural resources and infrastructure sectors. Talk on recent projects in Peru and the company's future growth strategy.
