UGA Exchange, University of Nottingham

The University of Nottingham, described by The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2013 as ‘one of the first to embrace a truly international approach to higher education’, has award-winning campuses in the United Kingdom, China and Malaysia. It is ranked in the UK’s top 10 and the world’s top 75 universities by the Shanghai Jiao Tong (SJTU) and the QS World University Rankings 2013, placing it in the top 1% of all universities worldwide. In 2014 a survey by High Fliers found that Nottingham was the most targeted university in the UK for leading graduate employers.

We are a global university and have extensive experience in working alongside international students of all backgrounds to ensure that your requirements are met. Our thriving community of over 43,000 students across campuses in the UK and Asia, including over 9,000 international students from over 150 countries on our UK campuses, lends a colourful and cosmopolitan feel to our campuses. We were also the first UK university to open overseas campuses in China and Malaysia.

Program Location

nottinghamAs well as our beautiful campuses, you will benefit from being close to the city of Nottingham. With all the buzz of big-city living but also a strong sense of community, Nottingham is one of the UK’s most desirable places to live. It has a sophisticated urban environment, an enviable reputation for theatres, cinemas and art galleries, a huge array of sports facilities, and a rich and varied heritage. For those fond of the outdoors, there are areas of outstanding natural beauty close by, including the Peak District, the world’s second most-visited national park, Wollaton Park, and Sherwood Forest, home to the legendary Robin Hood.

Getting here is easy. The city is less than two hours’ travel from London, with excellent transport links to the capital and the rest of the UK. East Midlands Airport, one of the UK’s fastest growing airports, is only 40 minutes from the city centre via a 24-hour bus service. Frequent rail services run from Nottingham to major UK cities, including London approximately every 30 minutes, and the completion of the Eurostar connection at St Pancras International means that passengers are only a few hours’ train journey from European travel destinations including Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt and Paris.
