UGA Exchange, Aberystwyth University

Aberystwyth University welcomes applications from US University (or Higher Education institution) students who wish to study at a top-ranking British University and experience British and Welsh culture. You can spend a semester or a full academic year with us in Aberystwyth, studying towards your degree at the oldest university in Wales.

Program Location

Aberystwyth 2There is nowhere quite like Aberystwyth: no other University which offers the unique combination of long academic tradition; outstandingly beautiful location, beneath the mountains and beside the sea; a centre of national and regional, cultural and commercial, importance; a campus combining one of only six copyright libraries in Britain with a Beacon status Arts Centre and state-of-the-art facilities.

We are located in the centre of the beautiful Cardigan Bay, with the Irish Sea to the west and the Cambrian Mountains to the east, so we have the seaside as well as unspoilt mountainous countryside to enjoy. Our town is friendly and welcoming, with a great mix of people, as well as a great mix of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs. The beach is a great place to relax and enjoy the view, especially our renowned sunsets, and if you're lucky you may spot a bottlenose dolphin or porpoise. There are several sites of special scientific interest in the area, and you'll regularly see Red Kites flying over the campuses.
