The following program testimonial responses have been selected for publication by Education Abroad
Final Reflection Questions
What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?
Broadening my Italian skills, learning as much of the culture as possible, experimenting with my own art work, looking at art in a different way, learning to travel on my own, making amazing friendships with people that live on the other side of our continent... I could go on and on. Amazing doesn't even begin to cover what I learned and how I feel about this program. I want to tell everyone about it so they can all go, but a little piece of me wants to be selfish and not share how incredible it is with the masses. I hope this program continues for years to come.
— Shelby Burkhardt, Spring 2016
What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?
Travelling in small groups made me more confident in travelling on my own in a foreign country. I also understand a lot more about public transportation. I've made friends from other states in the US, as well as those in Italy. And it's a great feeling.
— Zoey Wilson, Spring 2016
What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?
Living abroad is a challenge as much as it is enjoyable. I learned to appreciate different cultures as well as American culture. I learned that while I enjoyed this experience, permanently living abroad is not what I see for myself where it was in the past. I learned how to live on my own and rely on myself.
— Caroline Grizzle, Spring 2017

— Megan Watkins, Spring 2017
What are your words of advice to students considering this program?
This program is not just for art majors. Yes I am an art major and this was an extremely beneficial program for me, but there were also many students with my group that were not art majors. They found the program just as fun and possibly even more informational for them. Art is involved in all aspects of life. It is our history and culture. There is so much for any person to learn on this program.
