What are your words of advice to students considering this program?
I would say that this is one of the best experiences that you can have with a Spanish program to really understand the culture and language of a community. This is not a something that you should let pass by.

What are your words of advice to students considering this program?
Come into this program with an open mind. Costa Rica is a different place than the United States, but there are still many things you can learn from the people who live there. You will learn so much about yourself throughout this program and I definitely advise getting to know everyone you meet! Even if you are not very well in Spanish, the Ticos embrace you and are so happy that you are taking the opportunity to learn the language. They are also very patient, which is so helpful!

This experience actually made me fall in love with Costa Rica. I have never been out the country before and I feel like this was the perfect place to go to get a glimpse at an out-of-country experience. In the future, I can see myself going back to Costa Rica to live and work for a couple of years. I can even see myself working and going to grad school out of the country. It was just a new refreshing experience that I feel like came at the right time. The lifestyle there was so different that I really love it so much more than the United States.
