What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?
Program Testimonials
I loved the opportunities that we got to tour wineries because we got to really see what we learn about it lectures. It was really cool to see all of those concepts, practices, and techniques come together in a single glass of wine. Also, make sure you get to know everyone because I promise there are some really amazing people on your trip who will make it all the more wonderful for you.

The opportunity to live in the Tuscany region, specifically Cortona, was incredible. Very beautiful, and quaint town making it a fun, comfortable place to study and get to know locals. Getting to know so much about wine! It is applicable to business dinners in the future, and even ordering wine at a casual dinner. I feel confident in my smelling and tasting abilities now.

Program Testimonials
My biggest takeaways were meeting all of the people. Not only meeting citizens in the town of Cortona, but getting to meet other UGA students who I probably never would have run into on Georgia's campus in Athens. The friends that I met during my trip are lifelong. I am so thankful for this experience.

What are your words of advice to students considering this program?

Do it. It was the best summer I've had since attending UGA. If your other option is to stay in the US and work for the summer, consider going on vacation and getting class credit instead.

Program Testimonials
Take every opportunity that comes your way, you won't regret any new experience (probably). Take the class seriously because you will learn more than you ever thought you would and it's all so interesting. Don't go broke, but honestly, how many opportunities are you going to have like this? Go to the wine dinners! Go on weekend trips! Get the most out of it because, trust me, time flies.

Absolutely do the Viticulture program! Bring a laptop or tablet to do work on at the campus and in town. Do not rely solely on the computers on campus as they are often occupied. Try new restaurants and go to Snoopys Gelato!

Program Testimonials
While I don't think I'll ever work in a field even related to viticulture or enology, I genuinely believe that the things I learned on this trip will follow me throughout life. I can use my knowledge as a tool for relating to and impressing people I may work with. Frankly I chose this trip purely due to personal interest rather than career pursuits, but I couldn't be more please with my experience. I recommend it to all who are interested in learned about Tuscan culture, wine, vines, or anything similar.

I will never forget this trip or the people I met on it. Awesome that it is a UGA program with mainly UGA students so we can all hang out back in Athens.
