I learned a lot about my independence. Traveling to a different part of the world on your own and adapting to a different culture is eye opening and life changing. I would go back if I had the opportunity.

What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?
Program Testimonials
The most significant take-aways from my time at Oxford would probably be just an admiration for the city of Oxford. Everything from the meadows, to the colleges, to the libraries were just inspiring. It was an honor to study there and soak up just the intelligent culture of Oxford. I hold the utmost respect for the faculty we got to work with and for my fellow peers. It was definitely a growing experience being in an Oxford tutorial, but I found myself rising to the occasion. All in all, I think I had many "take-aways" but ultimately because of studying abroad in Oxford I have more confidence in myself as a student, a peer, and a traveling individual. Someday I really hope I get to go back to the "city of dreaming spires", but until then... pictures and a couple thousand word essays will have to be my portal back.
— Kristen Fikse, Summer 2017

What are your words of advice to students considering this program?
Program Testimonials
This program is definitely intense, but it doesn't mean it's impossible. You hear all these scary stories about professors making students cry or 3 gillion word essays, but I think many of my peers and I had the motto "work hard, play hard". So yes, we'd be in the libraries (or local coffee shops) during the weekdays, but formal dinner Mondays... we enjoyed. And weekends, we traveled. So work hard, but also don't miss the experience of Oxford because you're too busy "experiencing" the inside of your Virginia Woolf novel or 50 page economics article. Oxford is a great place to learn no doubt, so give it your all, but soak up this historic city as well.
