What were the most significant take-aways from your experience?
It was truly an eye opening experience. I took away a greater appreciation for other cultures, and how agriculture has truly helped shape history.
— Joshua Truitt, Maymester 2017
What are your words of advice to students considering this program?
Do it-it connects so many things to used to just be classroom material to the real world.
— Margaret Brigham, Maymester 2017
What are your words of advice to students considering this program?
Truly immerse yourself in the program. You travel so much, that you won't get as much time in the cities as you would staying in one place for the entire time. It is a great program, but you have to make it enjoyable for you. Take time to explore the many sites and enjoy the cultural experience each night. Do not sit in your hotel each night doing homework. Get out and live up the experience.
— Joshua Truitt, Maymester 2017

— Margaret Brigham, Maymester 2017
How did the experience impact you and your future educational/career/personal goals?
i believe it impacted me because i saw the commonalities between different cultures and times and how those impact our own time. i also saw how gardens can affect and relax people, ive always thought of instituting a gardening program in the school district that i will work, hopefully, in the future.
— Emily Krauss, Maymester 2017
How did the experience impact you and your future educational/career/personal goals?
It reminded me that I am definitely in the right profession. The last year I have been wondering if I chose the right career path, and was worried I would have to re-figure my life out. This experience reminded me how important teachers and educators of agriculture were to the world. It refreshed me and gave me a new sense of self. I can not wait to see what the future holds.
