The city of Oxford and the location of Trinity College is absolutely prime. I never felt unsafe or out of place.

The tutors are incredible and truly immerse students in their field of study.

The quantity of work was more than I was used to, but it was do-able and understandable with the time constraints of the program.

Summer 2017 Participant
Work load was reasonably heavy, but was still manageable. There was still plenty of time for fun things.

Summer 2016 Participant
Wales was so fun, but both Dr. Archer's had good field trips.

Loved the blind restaurant with the biomedical ethics excursion!

Margaret Emily Dryden, Summer 2017 Participant
I think the excursions aren't only a great way to relate the class material to the real and existing world, but it's also a great way to get to know the people in your class that aren't in your smaller group tutorial.

This program was amazing. I am so thankful that I had the privilege of going. I could not recommend it higher and hope for many other students to gain this experience.

I loved my time in Oxford. I made amazing new friends, some of which were interested in the same areas of study as me, others whose interests ranged far from my own. But every person I met was invested in learning and wanted to discuss even the most trivial of topics in an engaging and animated way. My professors were enlightening and knowledgeable in their subject areas, they honestly blew me away. Despite their extreme intelligence, I found my professors to be approachable and friendly, which made learning from them easy. I felt so at home in Oxford and will definitely try to go back later in life.

I am very glad I participated in this program. It was a very meaningful and worthwhile experience.

I would advise anyone considering Oxford to go. It will change how you think about the world and your interactions with others, how you approach school, and how you think about your future. It is an incredibly opportunity and I am so so glad I did it!

The program is a lot of work (mostly reading and writing), so make sure to take the time to do it. Everyone feels the same way - you're away from home (maybe for the first time), you've got a lot of work to do, and you want to meet new people - cut loose a little bit and try talking to people. Get to know everyone on the program, because chances are they signed up for similar reasons and have interesting things to say about the world.

If you are looking for a study abroad, this is it. It has a good balance of learning and freedom. Given the chance, I would study abroad in oxford again and again.

Going on the UGA at Oxford summer program is the best decision I've made. While the workload was difficult, the professors I had were so genuine in their interest in furthering our skills as writers and thinkers that I was happy to work hard. Getting the feedback of literary experts on my papers and ideas is something I will never forget. I also loved getting to know my professors on a more personal level when we went on our class excursions. I saw a Midsummer Night's Dream in Stratford with my Shakespeare class and went to Virginia Woolf's house in Sussex with my Woolf class. Those two experiences were unforgettable not only because of the places we got to go, but also because of the time spent talking to our professors. Professor Bradshaw of Worchester College, who has written the introductions to the Oxford editions of Woolf's novels, gave me a sip of his beer and some of his green beans at dinner. He asked us what books and movies we liked, whether we were enjoying dinner and the hotel. For such a brilliant man to claim the six of us in the class as friends meant the world to me and I know to my classmates as well. That trip stands out as a highlight, but I loved my time in Oxford as well. I'm glad I didn't travel on the weekends, because it freed up ample time to explore Oxford and get to know other people on the trip.

"UGA at Oxford was the perfect program for me, I studied hard, met new friends I'm still really good friends with, and went on adventures in various places throughout Europe. Highly recommend!"

The UGA at Oxford Program is the sort of experience that you know is changing you while you're in it. You can feel it shaping who you are while you're there. You know that when you get home, your outlooks and motivations will be different in terms of education, at least, and life, at best.

Mary Craig Lindgren, Summer 2017 Participant
In my application for a scholarship I used towards this program, I wrote that "Oxford offers a unique academic opportunity that would allow me to develop my studying and writing skills, actively engage in academic discussion, defend and expand on my ideas in the process of conversation, and make connections that will fuel my specific academic pursuits [....] I will learn valuable skills in understanding knowledge on my own terms, recognizing my limitations and how to move beyond them, and engaging in stimulating discussions that will deepen my understanding of whatever it is I am learning about. I love to learn, and the fact that this program is primarily about feeding that love is deeply exciting to me, not only for my time there but for the changes I imagine it will lead to in my academic life once I return to UGA." Sitting back in Athens today I can say without a doubt that all of this was true in ways I couldn't have predicted before going to Oxford. Today I am a more capable, confident, and purposeful student in and out of the classroom because of Oxford. Furthermore, I think the skills and experiences I gained as a result of this program will have a long term impact on my post-graduate education and career.

Studying abroad is one of the best and most liberating things you can do in your undergraduate career. Why not at Oxford? It's amazing.

Oxford, despite its busy streets and crowded markets, transports its students into a world where high-brow academics, humorous commentaries, and passionate debates cause peace of mind. The cobblestone streets make exploring the city seem more adventurous and playing croquet on the lawn becomes a pass-time. I felt at home in Oxford, even though it always felt too good to be true.

Dhaumya Shah, Summer 2017 Participant
There is no better time to explore the world and be in school than now. Do a study abroad.

The Oxford program allowed me to immerse myself in an amazing culture, work with some of the best scholars in the world, and meet people I can see myself having life long friendships with.
