Eligibility: AIFS operates study abroad programs in over 20 countries, including: Australia, Austria, Botswana, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Peru, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, & Multi-country programs in Europe.

Diversity Abroad Network Scholarship

Eligibility: UGA is a Diversity Network Institution. The Diversity Abroad Network, in cooperation with the STA Travel, will offer twenty summer scholarships for full-time students to offset the cost of travel to study abroad host country. Have minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA or the equivalent at an accredited university or college. Be willing to share their experiences abroad with the DiversityAbroad.com community via blogs (at least once a week), article submission (one or two article required depending on length of study abroad program) and participate in the DiversityAbroad.com Discussion Boards.

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students at a university or college that is a member of the Diversity Abroad Network. Economically disadvantaged students, African-American/Black, Asian, Hispanic/Latino, multiracial/ethnic or Indigenous/Native-American, students with disabilities and first generation college undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to apply.

Amount: Each scholarship is $1,000.

Dr. Natalia Gómez Passport Scholarship

The Dr. Natalia Gómez Passport Fund was established to empower persons with disabilities to pursue their dreams to study, work, intern, travel, volunteer, and expand their horizons abroad.  This scholarship funds the cost of a U.S. passport ($135 value).

Eligibility:

  • Be a United States citizen;
  • Provide a completed application to the AWD team at abroadwithdisabilities.org;
  • Provide proof of purchase of a U.S passport (receipt) and/or be ready to travel abroad and AWD will purchase your U.S passport.

Fund for Education Abroad

Eligibility: Fund for Education Abroad awards are intended to support students planning to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs. The financial support for these scholarships is provided by generous donors, who are committed to increasing study abroad opportunities for dedicated American students. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled as undergraduates in US universities/colleges who plan to study abroad for at least four weeks between this upcoming May and May of next year.

Amount: Up to $10,000 (Academic Year); $5,000 (fall/spring semester); prorated by no. of weeks, minimum $1,250 (summer).

IAU College Meredith Hope Emerson French Honors Scholarship

Eligibility: IAU College, with study abroad programs in Aix-en-Provence, France, is proud to introduce the Meredith Hope Emerson French Honors Scholarship Program for qualified UGA students interested in a semester or summer abroad with IAU College. The Scholarship Program, created in memory of Meredith - who was a former IAU French Honors Student - offers two half-tuition semester scholarships and one half-tuition summer scholarship for qualified UGA French students enrolled in IAU College French Studies classes.

Amount: Two semester scholarships, worth $5,200 each, are available. The summer scholarship, worth $2,100, will be awarded based on merit.

Eligibility: The Whitaker International Program sends emerging leaders in U.S. biomedical engineering (or bioengineering) overseas to undertake a self-designed project that will enhance their careers within the field.

  • For graduate students only
  • Have U.S. citizenship OR be a permanent legal resident of the U.S.
  • Be in the field of biomedical engineering/bioengineering or a closely-related field (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with substantive interest and background in Biomedicine).
